Good News! Ag’s Climate Footprint is Shrinking

According to USDA, 2020 farming activities made up 11.2%, or 670 of 5,981 million metrics tons, of the country's total greenhouse gases. Outside of ag, the following economic sectors contribute to the greenhouse gas tally: industry, 30.3%; transportation, 27.3%; commercial, 15.4%; and residential, 15.4%.
