Nearly half of all adults say Trump should be removed from office. 28% of Republicans say they favor impeachment while 18% think Trump should be removed [WaPo]. House Democrats are considering taking extreme measures to hide the identity of the anonymous whistleblower from President Trump's allies if they testify before Congress [CNN]. The White House plan to fight the impeachment push in Congress by stalling and counterattacking against Democrats [AP]. House Democrats issued subpoenas to the Pentagon and White House Budget Office as part of their impeachment inquiry [NYT]. Trump's taxesA federal judge dismissed President Trump's challenge to the release of his tax returns to New York prosecutors. The judge ruled Trump's claim of immunity from all criminal investigations is at odds with the Constitution, but an appeals court has blocked the release of the tax records for now [CBS News]. Yikes!The federal budget deficit for 2019 is an estimated $984 billion, which is the highest since 2012 [The Hill].
