| How The Gospel Coalition plans to combat biblical illiteracy | | The Gospel Coalition has launched The Carson Center for Theological Renewal in a bid to combat biblical illiteracy and "heretical" modern teachings. The Gospel Coalition's editor-in-chief, Collin Hansen, says the initiative will foster spiritual renewal globally "by providing excellent theological resources for the whole church—for anyone called to teach and anyone who wants to study the Bible." The book's presence in public schools has been widely criticized by parents and political leaders for its graphic depictions of various sex acts, including images of oral sex and pictures of finger penetration and sticking objects in one's rectum. Feinstein, who authored and helped to pass the 1994 federal assault weapons ban that remained in effect until Congress let it expire in 2004, also championed the legalization of same-sex marriage.
