I don't know about you, but I'm ready for the Thanksgiving holiday. There's a lot to look forward to: Friends, family, football and food. It's the time of year when we slow down and think about all that we are grateful for.

Of course, there's another reason that I'm counting down to November 22. The Thanksgiving holiday often ignites a positive mood that spreads from Main Street to Wall Street. And after the volatile month of October and this week's market retest, we all need a little more cheer right now.

I understand that the latest market fluctuations have been frustrating, and in this weekly update, we'll talk more about the recent action and why the swings were different. I'll also talk about the stocks that I've been asked about the most, and share some company and earnings updates.

And as a quick reminder: The stock markets will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. To help give you a jumpstart on your long weekend, I'll post a brief Weekly Update online around mid-day Wednesday, November 21.
