S&WB takeover bill filed: A New Orleans-area lawmaker has filed a bill in the state legislature that would replace the board that oversees the Sewerage & Water Board with a temporary one with a mix of state and local officials. The announcement came late on the same day that the agency's chief spoke out against any such proposal, saying it would be "disruptive." Ben Myers has the details. A TKO for some THC products? When lawmakers expanded the state's hemp industry and created its highly regulated medical marijuana program five years ago, it opened the door to allowing THC-infused gummies, tinctures and soft drinks to be sold in some Louisiana stores. However, a bill under consideration in the state legislature could put an end to that. James Finn has the story. Brandt deal closes: After a bitter, years-long family succession battle, Ray Brandt's widow has signed the final documents on the deal to sell off the last of her late husband's auto dealership empire.
