January Internships with HAM - The deadline to apply for several remote January-term internships with the Harvard Art Museums is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20! On Thursday, October 22, join Sarah Kianovsky, Curator of the Collection in the Division of Modern and Contemporary Art, to look at The Hunger March, which memorializes a protest that changed the nation almost 90 years ago. DAPP Director and Research Curator David Odo recently contributed to a Vox video about how colorized photos helped introduce Japan to the world. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, Associate Curator of Chinese Art Sarah Laursen co-created Vermont Art Online, a digital resource that lets you enjoy Vermont's museums and galleries at home. __________________________________________________ From Our Friends... On Thursday, October 22, Lonnie G. Bunch, III of the Smithsonian Institute will present 'Fool’s Errands: Building a National Museum, and Leading Cultural Organizations During Dual Pandemics.' Brooks will present a two-part lecture series entitled 'Lemonade from Lemons: Black Women Artists & the Gershwin Problem, 1935-2020' on October 27 and 29. More info on both lectures and links to register can be found here. Former HAM Fellow Marina Isgro recently curated an online exhibition for the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. Using highlights from the museum collection, "In the Beginning" explores how video, sound, and performance artists use new technologies and formats to reimagine history now.
