Sinead is a junior studying History of Art and Architecture with a secondary in Energy and Environment. She is interested in the intersection of these fields, specifically how we perceive, engage with and design our spatial environments.
Che Applewhaite ‘21
Dudley House
Born in Trinidad and raised in London, Che occupies his time with art, activism and academic research. He writes for campus publications including the Crimson and the Advocate and is the lead student ambassador for the #InTheCity Visual Arts Fellowship with Harvard University’s Commonwealth Project. Che is currently working on a tour that explores how artists transform cultural meta-narratives.

Mather House
Heidi is a junior guide who loves creative writing, digital media, and giving tours. She has always loved art--going to museums as a kid, taking art history in high school--but is especially interested in Impressionism and works of Asian art.

On view now, Life in Singapore: Views from Migrant Workers aims to showcase the vibrant migrant arts ecosystem in Singapore, a city that has both been produced by and produced waves of migration across time and space. Organized by Harvard Art Museums Student Board member Yong Han Poh, you can visit the exhibition at the Asian Centers' Lounge, 1st Floor, CGIS South.
In celebration of Harvard University’s Department of African and African-American Studies 50th Anniversary, please join us for the Art Study Center workshop, I Dream a World, on Wednesday, February 26 from 2-4pm. This workshop is an experiment in rethinking our modernist past. By situating in history the paintings of African-American artists Elizabeth Catlett, Charles White, Jacob Lawrence, Betye Saar, Alison Saar, Fred Wilson, and Toni Morrison in relation to their abstract, pop, and conceptual art counterparts, Jackson Pollock, Pablo Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg, and Cy Twombly, we attempt to reframe the complicated margins of modernism. This workshop is open to the public, but registration is required.
The Burlington Magazine and Burlington Contemporary are now accepting entries for the Contemporary Art Writing Prize 2020. The aim of the Prize is to discover and encourage emerging young writers on contemporary art, with the winner receiving £1,000 and the opportunity to publish a review of a contemporary art exhibition in the Magazine. This year's guest judges are Franklin Sirmans, the Director of the Pérez Art Museum, Miami, and Polly Staple, Director of the collection at Tate.
