2-for-1 tickets to a bite-sized Beethoven concert at the Barbican

Fancy swapping the rush hour crush for a slice of rural bliss? That's exactly what the London Symphony Orchestra is serving up at the Barbican on 24 May, when they perform Beethoven's lush and uplifting 'Pastoral' symphony.

This is the latest instalment of Half Six Fix — a series of early evening concerts from the LSO that offers a fantastic entry point to orchestral music. As usual, the event begins with an introduction from the conductor (this time it's François-Xavier Roth) to help you really appreciate what's coming next. Then, it's time for your musical trip to the countryside. Listen out for rippling streams, singing birds and shepherd's pipes and feel the stress of city life melt away.

The event runs 6.30pm-7.30pm, leaving you with plenty of time to grab dinner or drinks afterwards (but if you can't wait till then, you're very welcome to pick up a beverage from the Barbican bar on your way in!). Standard tickets cost £18-£35 but you can nab 'em for as little as a tenner if you go for the Wildcard mystery seat option. Alternatively, bring a pal and take advantage of our 2-for-1 promo code!
