Stop the Presses for Labor Day The history of why we celebrate Labor Day in September instead of on May 1st like the rest of the world is long and complicated and political, and in these times the last thing we want to be is political. However, I was impressed when the CEO of Dotdash spelled it Labo(u)r Day, recognizing that it exists on both sides of the border – because the holiday actually has roots north of the US border, and I lead with my history of this.
