Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Franciscan Media!
| | Hi John, Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Franciscan Media! This year, your Thanksgiving will likely be different than past celebrations. This year will involve less travel and fewer friends and family around our tables. Thanksgiving is a time to care for our neighbors, regardless of our differences. Because the pandemic has made it impossible to care for those in our communities face-to-face, we are asked to be good stewards of one another in different ways. In his time, St. Francis also faced a health scare. It forced him to care for others in unconventional ways, as well, since leprosy was thought to be a sign of an angry God. And yet, St. Francis saw those who were afflicted as his brothers and sisters. He gave up everything he had in order to care for the most vulnerable. Thanksgiving this year may not be what we hoped for, but we mustn’t lose heart! We are, after all, one family—one body of Christ. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and God bless! Fr.
