Guilty plea
 
The president of Telexfree, Inc., a pyramid scheme that was disguised as a Marlborough internet telecom company, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Worcester Monday and forfeited $140 million. The guilty plea stems from a pyramid scheme that resulted in $3 billion taken from investors in more than 240 countries.
 
Brick and mortar no more
 
On the back of dropping foot traffic and increased reliance on smartphones, the Chamber of Central Mass South has announced the decision to close the Sturbridge Tourist Information Center in November.
 
Lower pay
 
A new report on the Massachusetts robotics industry from the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and ABI Research found while robotics engineers in the Worcester area earned comparatively less than people in the same profession who work in other parts of the state, wages still generally exceeded national averages.
