View email online | | | | | | | | | Jun 3, 2020 | | | | | | | | Good evening The last few weeks have given us all pause for thought. From being wrapped up in our individual busy lives, we have all been forced to change the way we live and work. And rather than crumbling, this period of adversity has actually inspired many of us to be better people. We have all taken more time and effort to keep in touch with friends and family; we have done some wonderful acts of generosity and kindness for strangers; and we have even contributed to the health of the planet by leaving our cars in the garage and taking to two wheels. So it is with sadness that we have had to report some of the incidents we have seen across the county in the past week. The rubbish left in our parks and on our beaches has been depressing to see but the most horrifying incident involved those completely selfish people who took portable barbeques onto moorland which has gone up like a tinderbox. Not only is it destroying the natural habitat, it is tying up fire crews for days at a time. Have we learned absolutely nothing from our enforced period of lockdown?
