Return of wet weather? It looks like our weather winning streak is taking this weekend off after several picture-perfect summer days. There’s a chance of rain and thunderstorms across the state Saturday, with highs in the mid-70s to the lower 80s. The rain may linger into Sunday for southern Minnesota. Sunday will be the cooler day this weekend, with highs in the upper 60s to the mid-70s. Did you go to a rodeo in Effie last weekend? Quarantine for 2 weeks -- because at least one spectator had COVID-19. At least one person who attended last weekend’s North Star Stampede Rodeo in northern Minnesota has tested positive for COVID-19. And the Minnesota Department of Health says the person would have been contagious during the event. While Attorney General Keith Ellison filed a complaint against the organizer for violating the state’s restriction on large gatherings, health officials urged those who went to the event to quarantine at least 14 days. Worries, uncertainty, questions: Educators, families left in limbo as Minnesota’s school guidance gives little answers. “I was up all night last night just kind of racking my brain for what we’re going to do,” said Anne Halvorson, a parent in St. Paul. For Halvorson and many other Minnesota families and educators, Gov. Tim Walz’s plan for the upcoming school year has brought more questions than answers. While some expressed optimism that the governor’s plan could work, many others say that it didn’t offer solace.
