Health tips: Breakfast trifle | | Dear Reader, Can you eat delicious food and lose weight? Absolutely! Enjoy the delicious flavors in this nutritious breakfast trifle. And with summer just around the corner, this is the perfect recipe to keep you cool. This breakfast trifle uses muesli, a healthier lower sugar and fat alternative to granola. To save time during the week, prepare 2 to 3 jars with lids and store in the fridge for a quick breakfast. Any type of unsalted seeds will work in this recipe, including sesame and sunflower. Easy natural muesli (muesli only for leftovers) Combine 2 cups old-fashioned (rolled) oats, 1¼ cup dried apple (chopped), 20 hazelnuts or an equal amount of other nuts (roughly chopped), ¼ cup shredded unsweetened coconut, and 1 tbsp. chia seeds. 7 oz. nonfat plain Greek yogurt (about 1 cup) ½ cup muesli (recipe above) ½ cup strawberries, sliced ½ cup mango, cut into pieces 1 tbsp. shelled pumpkin seeds |

Spoon ¼ cup of yogurt into the base of a glass or jar. Top with 1½ tbsp. muesli, a few sliced strawberries and a few pieces of mango. Repeat the layers, finishing with remaining yogurt, strawberries and mango. Sprinkle with seeds. |
