Library News
Hello Paula! New Outreach Staff
We’re excited to introduce Paula Faught as our new Outreach Specialist! You may have previously seen her at the Youth Services Desk, but she has now moved to the 1st floor and taken on a different role. She will provide services and materials to residents in senior living facilities and nursing homes as well as residents who are homebound for any reason and unable to come to the library. If you or someone you know (parent? great aunt? SAHM with limited transportation?) are interested in our Outreach program, please call the Library and ask for Paula. If you can’t come to the Library, we’ll come to you!
The Twelfth Annual Gathering of Authors
We are proud to present the Gathering of Authors on Saturday, August 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In its twelfth year, the Gathering is a celebration of the rich tradition of literature in Kentucky. This event features gifted writers who play an integral role in our service to readers throughout Frankfort and the Commonwealth. Authors from across the Bluegrass will sell and sign their works as well as talk with you, the reader! This is an excellent opportunity to meet some of your favorite authors in a casual atmosphere. This event is free and open to the public. Come out and join us, and see what some of Kentucky’s best literary talents have to offer!
We’ve dramatically expanded our audiobooks collection from RBdigital! There’s something for everyone, with classics like The Hobbit and Great Expectations to contemporary favorites like Red Rising and Outlander, in addition to non-fiction, self-help, children’s titles, and more! Browse the collection and start listening today.
