| Apply to govern Ontario's teaching profession We're looking for more than 100 qualified and dedicated people to help support and safeguard student well-being by joining our Council, committees and rosters. These groups will make decisions to help shape the future of teaching in Ontario. To learn more, watch this short video at oct-oeeo.ca/JoinUs and visit oct.ca. Apply before September 30, 2021. These changes are part of new regulations that support and strengthen our transition to a modernized governance structure. Read more about the changes to the Ontario College of Teachers Act. |

| Sexual abuse prevention program in development The College has partnered with the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (C3P) to develop a new sexual abuse prevention program for Ontario Certified Teachers (OCTs). It will also be a registration requirement for new, existing and returning members. Legislated by the Ontario government, the mandatory online program will launch on January 1, 2022, and OCTs will have until August 31, 2022, to successfully complete it. The program will leverage C3P's expertise to strengthen the College's ability to fulfil its student safety mandate through ongoing teacher education. There is no cost to complete the program. |

They are particularly vulnerable to the disruptions the pandemic has caused.
