Plus, what about steam canners & electric pressure cookers?
| | | | I’ve been asked lots of great canning questions through the years. Here are three more you might have wondered about: “Is steam canning safe?” The Utah State University Extension has tested steam canning for preserving fruits, jams, and jellies and found it safe and efficient. Click the link above to learn more. “Can I use an electric pressure cooker for canning?” The electric pressure cookers have not been tested with the methods that are posted on the National Center for Home Food Preservation, the Ball website, and as far as I know, none of the other extension websites. So unfortunately, you should not be using the electric pressure cooker with those methods. Click the link above to learn more. “Why is my All American pressure canner leaking steam?” So this is the one problem that I do hear about with the All American canner. Sometimes steam will escape from the edge of the lid here. That’s really the only negative thing I have ever heard about the All American canner and at the link above, you’ll learn what causes it! |
