Help Support Cancer Patients at our Care Homes and TLC Lodges

Our CANSA Care Homes in Bloemfontein, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban, Richards Bay and Tygerberg, Cape Town, continue to accommodate cancer patients during lockdown. In the other provinces, plans have been made for critical patients to be admitted full time at specific hospitals or treatment centres. Protective measures and strict infection procedures are in place, because cancer patients' compromised immune systems make them vulnerable to infections.

CANSA Care Homes cater for patients receiving cancer treatment far from home, by providing accommodation, transport and meals close to treatment centres.

CANSA’s TLC Lodges for children and families affected by cancer in Pretoria and Polokwane are also operating during lockdown. Parents / guardians who live far from treatment centres are able to be with their children who are undergoing treatment as a result.

We are grateful to our CANSA staff and volunteers based at our CANSA Care Homes and TLC Lodges during lockdown for helping with cleaning, cooking and emotional support to our cancer patients.
