Dear Haaretz supporter,

One year ago, in an extraordinary presidential endorsement, U.S. President Barack Obama commended Haaretz for “never being afraid to speak truth to power.”

Speaking to the first-ever HaaretzQ with NIF conference, which took place in New York City last December 13th, Obama added, “Over the years, I have turned to Haaretz for your reporting and analysis.” In his message, he also thanked the conference participants for their "unyielding commitment to the peace we know is possible" and concluded: "You’ll always have a strong partner in me and in the United States of America."

A lot has changed since then, but some things remain the same, including our continued commitment to speak truth to power.
