We're seeking farmers in California, Nebraska, Arkansas, Indiana and Maryland for an exciting new conservation program designed to support producers on their conservation journey.
| | | | Gearing Up For Event Season And Climate-Smart Action | | I hope this finds you having a wonderful week!
My letter this week is brief and to the point - a reflection of the busy winter events season in which we (and I suspect many of you) find ourselves in. This week's newsletter touches on several themes, all of which point to the fact that across food and agriculture, action is under way to support farmers and ranchers in adopting climate-smart practices and innovations into their operations. In our thought leadership spotlight this week, I share three things I'm watching as 2022 gets underway. This list is by no means comprehensive, and I do hope you'll reach out with trends and news you're monitoring. Share what you're watching by emailing me at nbirt@farmjournal.com. Then, my colleague Ryan Heiniger announces an exciting opportunity for conservation-minded farmers to join us in five states--California, Nebraska, Arkansas, Indiana and Maryland--as we support community-building and ongoing dialogue among producers on climate-smart ag. We can't wait to identify and work with these 10 producers. We'd welcome your nominations to rheiniger@farmjournal.com. Details are below and in the links provided. Last but not least, I'd be remiss if I didn't invite you to join me in person (or virtually, depending on your comfort level and travel restrictions) at the upcoming Trust In Food Symposium: Climate-Smart State of Mind. The in-person program runs Feb. 14-16 in Nashville, while the virtual program featuring additional speakers and free content is Feb. 22-23 via Zoom. Click here to register for these events.
