DEAL CASE

Hi Ventures | Yana

Hi Ventures Yana

In June 2021, Hi Ventures invested in Yana, a Mexico-based application that provides users with emotional support through a conversational platform and daily mental wellness activities.

With Hi Ventures' support, Yana shifted from a decision tree system to an AI model powered by dynamic prompts and trained agents, using proprietary data from over two billion interactions for more accurate, empathetic, and safe support. Hi Ventures also connected Yana’s team with experts at OpenAI and Llama for guidance on generative AI. The platform enforces a strict code of conduct, with crisis protocols reviewed by a licensed therapist. Yana introduced a monetization model, expanded beyond Latin America and reached over 17 million downloads and 2.3 billion messages exchanged by June 2025.
