Blackpool Magistrates' and County Court update As part of our surveying work, we have taken precautionary steps to temporarily close Blackpool County Court and Blackpool Magistrates Court, due to the presence of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC). Cases will be heard remotely or at alternative sites to minimise disruption wherever possible. | | Magistrates to record their own verdicts in Single Justice cases Magistrates will now be able to record their own verdicts in Single Justice Procedure cases and upload the results onto Common Platform. They will still receive support from qualified legal advisers remaining in place for each session. A phased transition will start from 27 November with each region tailoring its own schedule for this. Bradford & Keighley Magistrates' Court update Weve successfully completed estate works at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates Court, enabling us to reopen a small area of the building where Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) had previously been found. The area had been temporarily sealed off whilst works to correct the issue took place by structural engineers. Well continue to regularly monitor our estate, in line with advice from structural engineers. | | Justice Committee County Courts inquiry The Justice Committee has launched an inquiry into the work carried out by the County Court. | | Court and Tribunal Service Centre From Monday 6 November, our Court and Tribunal Service Centre will be answering phone calls and webchat enquiries relating to divorce applications between 10am to 6pm.
