Plus: Seth's weekly picks against the spread
| We had a terrific couple of days of college basketball as a few holiday tournaments got an early start. The best game of the week — and perhaps the season so far — happened in The Bahamas on Thursday night, when Baylor erased an 18-point lead against St. John’s and edged the Red Storm in double overtime on Jeremy Roach’s three-point buzzer beater. Last night, we were treated to the spectacle of a heavyweight nonconference duel in a true campus gym as Duke knocked off Arizona 69-55 in McKale Center in Tucson.
Both games represented the best college hoops. There are lots more to come, including Sunday’s epic women’s clash that will see the reigning champs, South Carolina, travel to Pauley Pavilion to take on No. 5 UCLA. Then comes the flurry of Thanksgiving Week tournaments in which the action will come so fast and furiously it will be hard for fans to keep up.
That's what Hoops HQ is for. You can enjoy your lives, celebrate Thanksgiving with your loved ones and trust that we’ve got you covered. There are a few games today worth watching (check out my picks against the spread below), but trust me, the best is yet to come. Have a great Saturday, everyone. – Seth Davis Editor-in-Chief |
