Building Better Community Partnerships |
|
As the name suggests, community colleges don’t fulfill their missions in isolation. They serve their communities, and they do it best in some degree of constructive collaboration with community partners, including other area educational institutions, area governments and nonprofit organizations, and area businesses. If the institutions are to thrive in the years to come, those collaborations must be extended, deepened, and strengthened. What Community Colleges Need to Thrive identifies strategies and approaches forward-thinking leaders are using to tackle the sector's most pressing challenges and where they can play a larger role in higher ed. It focuses on specific areas that scholars, advocates, and community-college leaders describe as vital to future success for two-year institutions, including two of the most important factors: resources and leadership. |
