Share your ideas with our expert panel as they create an alternative manifesto
Hello reader,
While more and more households plunge further into poverty due to rising prices and bills, the biggest companies – unfettered by conscience or regulation – are raking in record profits.
On Thursday 25 January, I’ll be joined by a panel of experts and economists for an online Guardian Live event to explore the economic policies and changes our next government should implement to make Britain a more equal society.
With the next general election expected to take place this year, all political parties will be clambering to outline their commitments to promise a fairer Britain in their manifestos. Can 2024 give us a glimpse of hope? What changes do we want to see?
Join me, with the economist and Labour prospective parliamentary candidate for Peckham, Miatta Fahnbulleh; the economist and author Stewart Lansley; and the environmental political theorist and economist Michael Jacobs, and share your ideas and suggestions, as we shape a political manifesto that could help create a more equal society.
Book your tickets here.
I hope to see you there.
