AND Sen. Lee's solution to fight the housing crisis, Biden's approval rating a year after Afghanistan and would you survive a zombie attack?
Good morning, Utah Today readers! Here’s today’s forecast: ☀️ 55 – 92° in Logan 🌥️ 71 – 96° in Salt Lake City 🌥️ 73 – 96° in St. George | 💧 40% chance ⚠️ Flood Watch Have you ever theorized what you would do in the case of a zombie apocalypse? For me, I have a pretty good idea of who would be on my “team.” I am a pretty good seamstress, and I can sew by hand in case there is a power shortage. I know a couple of people who are really good at gardening. My brother has taken up carpentry. My brother-in-law is an excellent outdoorsman. And my sister might be one of the most resourceful people I know. I’d say our chances of surviving the zombie onslaught are pretty good. And according to this blog, as a Salt Lake City resident, I have some tactical advantages. Tell me: What are your special zombie apocalypse skills? Reply to me with your answers and I’ll share them with our Utah Today readers! Also on our minds: The story of Biden’s approval rating one year after Afghanistan, a Saudi Arabian Princess’ diplomatic visit and a member of Utah’s history-making Little League team is in the hospital. |
| Opinion: How does a religious obstetrician-gynecologist counsel patients on abortion? |
|
| | Dr. Howard T. Sharp is an obstetrician-gynecologist in Utah with a nuanced view on the issue of abortion. On one hand, he is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and this informs his view on the sanctity of human life. On the other hand, as a medical provider, he understands the importance of not imposing his religious beliefs on a patient and allowing his patients to choose the medical path most consistent with her values. | Sen. Mike Lee proposed a potential solution to the housing crisis out west which he says could alleviate 14% of the country’s housing shortage: Sell parcels of federal land at a reduced price to home developers with proceeds going to manage national parks, fire prevention and water management. What do you think about the proposal? Read what Lee said here.
