NATIONAL: The music industry is participating in Blackout Tuesday—a day of pushing pause on events and other operations to show solidarity with the black community amidst ongoing protests. #TheShowMustBePaused was created by Atlantic Records executive Jamila Thomas and Platoon's Brianna Agyemang. Affected events include OUTLOUD, an ongoing, virtual LGBTQ artist showcase that has canceled its event today. ATLANTA: Event design firm WM Events has launched re:EVENT-ion, a new initiative focused on online, hybrid, and in-person event solutions for the COVID-19 era. LOS ANGELES: Following suit with venues such as the Hollywood Bowl and the Ford, the Greek Theatre has canceled its 2020 season. MILWAUKEE: The Renaissance Milwaukee West is slated to open in August 2020. The first Renaissance property in the state of Wisconsin, the 196-room hotel will have almost 10,000 square feet of event space, including the 4,500-square-food Revel Hall ballroom. NEW YORK: In light of ongoing protests, the Public Theater canceled its virtual fundraising gala on Monday night. The theater plans to announce a new date in the coming weeks.
