NATIONAL: ReturnSafe, a software solution for infectious disease management, has launched Safe Events, a new platform that can help facilitate the reopening of entertainment venues, sporting events, trade shows and other gatherings. The product provides tools for prescreening guests, as well as venue entrance screening, contact-logging wearables, post-event safety measures and more. CORT has named Mike Davis its new president and chief operating officer. The longtime executive, who joined CORT in 1997, will oversee all operations and sales for CORT Furniture Rental, CORT Trade Show & Events, CORT Party Rental, 4SITE by CORT and Roomservice by CORT in the U.K. LAS VEGAS: Illuminarium will open at AREA15 in Jan. 2022. The 33,000-square-foot building will be the second Illuminarium location in the U.S., following the inaugural site opening in Atlanta this July; a third will open in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District in 2022. The unique entertainment space aims to place guests “inside” an experience, mixing cinematography and visual effects to create an immersive environment. NEW ORLEANS: Kimpton Hotel Fontenot, a 202-room hotel located in New Orleans’s Central Business District, opens May 11. The property is filled with custom art paying homage to the city’s history and musical legacy. There are also two dining and cocktail concepts, the Peacock Room and Gospel Coffee & Boozy Treats. ORLANDO/CENTRAL FLORIDA: Courtyard by Marriott Lake Buena Vista has completed a $9 million redevelopment.
