NATIONAL: The Consumer Technology Association announced that Microsoft will be its official technology partner for the first all-digital CES 2021, taking place Jan. 11-14. The event experience will use Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 to deliver an exhibitor showcase, media events, conference programming, networking events, and more. BOSTON: Cramer, a Boston-based event and content marketing agency, has added Sean McGuire to its executive team. McGuire previously served as the senior director of technology for the NBCUniversal media properties in the Boston market. CHICAGO: The Hilton Chicago has donated 100 brand-new televisions to the Chicago Furniture Bank, a nonprofit organization that provides furniture for people moving from shelters into permanent housing. The property plans to donate other furnishings in the future as inventory becomes available. LOS ANGELES: Xsolla (a video game business engine that helps developers and publishers launch and operate games globally) is partnering with Pantera Entertainment (the developer of the Unreal Engine-powered Your World game platform) to create an immersive virtual event platform called Unconventional. The platform's inaugural experience, Game Carnival Hosted by Unreal Engine, launches on Oct. 26 as a two-month-long gaming industry showcase supporting new indie game development. NEW YORK: On Oct. 21, Hudson River Park held its first virtual “UnGala,” raising more than $1 million to support the park's operations, horticulture maintenance, and public programming. The park also partnered with CharityBuzz to host an online auction. The event was hosted by Jenna Bush Hager, and kicked-off with a "Marthatini" demonstration by Martha Stewart.
