Roger’s almost ready to reveal the shocking truth that put $1,085 in his hand — and he’s ready to give it away How Institutional Buying Moves the Market — And How to Profit From ItRetail traders love to overcomplicate things. They chase random stocks, rely on news headlines, and try to predict every market move. Meanwhile, institutions follow a different playbook — one that’s based on size, strategy and discipline. Understanding how big money moves is the key to successful trading. Institutions don’t trade like you do. They don’t buy a couple or even a couple of hundred shares of a stock because it "looks good" on a chart. They move in size, and they do it with purpose. Why the Last Hour of Trading Matters Institutions also don’t place their biggest bets in the middle of the day. They wait. They analyze. And when the final hour arrives, that’s when the real action happens. If a stock is making a strong move in the last 30 to 60 minutes of trading, chances are it’s not retail traders behind the wheel — it’s institutions loading up for the next session. That’s why end-of-day price action is one of the strongest signals you can follow. Think about it... If a stock like Goldman Sachs (GS), Citibank (C) or JPMorgan (JPM) is climbing into the close while the Financials sector (XLF) is also pushing higher, that’s not a coincidence. It means serious money is positioning for the next move. How to Spot Institutional Buying Instead of guessing which stocks to trade, follow the money. Here’s how 1. Use a strong watchlist. Every morning, I provide a list of stocks that are already set up for high-probability moves. If a stock is on my list, there’s a reason. 2. Look for strength in the last hour of trading. If one of my watchlist stocks is breaking out in the final minutes, institutions are likely involved. 3. Check sector strength. If a sector ETF like Financials (XLF), Technology (XLK) or Health Care (XLV) is moving in the same direction, it confirms the momentum. If a stock checks all three boxes, there’s a high probability that the move will continue into the next session. Stop Fighting the Market — Follow the Money Most traders fail because they try to predict what the market should do instead of reacting to what’s actually happening. Institutions aren’t concerned with your predictions — they’re concerned with moving billions of dollars efficiently. If you see institutions buying a stock late in the day, don’t overthink it. They’re telling you where they believe the market is headed. Your job is to follow the flow, not fight it. The stock market isn’t about predicting the future — it’s about recognizing patterns and taking advantage of high-probability setups. Institutional buying is one of the strongest signals you can trade, and it happens in plain sight at the end of every trading day. So stop chasing random stocks and start watching what actually matters. The big money is always leaving clues. You just have to know where to look.Roger Scott Roger Scott Trading Follow along and join the conversation for real-time analysis, trade ideas, market insights and more!
