Good morning, Marketer, and have you thought about data today? I had an interesting conversation with a colleague this week. He queried whether “data” — just plain “data” — was really a singular topic in the martech space. After all, data surely drives everything. If you’re not specifically addressing data cleansing, say, data management, or zero- or first-party data, you’re not really addressing anything. I understand that point. But on the other hand, it’s precisely because data is omnipresent in marketing and marketing technology that we do talk about it all the time.
