LaPlace shooting: Sa'Miya McClain was visiting with her uncle Ron Tate at his LaPlace home Friday night when authorities say two gunmen bent on revenge opened fire outside while aiming at another person, striking and killing the 11-year-old girl and Tate. Michelle Hunter has the details.
Environmental racism? A federal appeals court panel heard arguments Monday over an environmental justice lawsuit alleging that discriminatory land-use policies in St. James Parish inundated Black areas with pollution from industrial facilities while sparing predominantly White neighborhoods.
