How the first Louisiana drive-thru daiquiri stand beat Lafayette city hall and made history

By ADAM DAIGLE | Acadiana Business Editor

Good Monday morning, Acadiana. Thanks for reading us this morning to start your week.

Did you know the first drive-thru daiquiri stand was in Lafayette? David Ervin was from north Louisiana and not even close to 30 years old when he opened The Daiquiri Factory on Johnston Street. He wasn't sure he would not get arrested, but in the end he beat city hall's attempt to shut him down and spawned a business model that's become synonymous with Louisiana.

Ervin's stories are wild. He's nearly finished writing a book about the whole experience.

You can read the story here.

Have a great day and see you back here Tuesday morning.
