Large employers open to new pharmacy benefit design
The nation's largest employers expect to see the total cost of health benefits rise to $15,000 per employee next year, and about 20% said they will try pharmacy benefit contracts that feature direct-to-patient drug rebates, according to the National Business Group on Health's annual survey. Passing drug rebates directly to patients might lower the cost for some, but overall premiums are likely to rise.
