Staff Sergeant Jake Garcia of the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office was listening to the dispatch and looking at information from license plate readers when he saw the Mercedes Benz that had been reported stolen. A high-speed chase ensued that ended with Garcia cutting the suspect off and halting him at gunpoint. This story shows how it unfolded, and the technology deputies used to catch the suspect. Louisiana's juvenile prison leaders are in court, battling a lawsuit that aims to stop their plan of temporarily putting some youth inmates in Angola. A hearing yesterday drew out new details of the plan, including the fact that it would put the teens in individual cells and that "high-risk" youth from any prison in the state could go there.
