Extracting EXIF Metadata from Media Files
To complete your P5 Platform installation and facilitate your process, the Support Team at Archiware create helpful sample scripts. Our new sample script provides guidelines on extracting EXIF metadata from media files for Windows and Mac. The sample scripts extracts:
- Image size -> user_dimensions
- Camera model -> user_camera
- Colorspace -> user_colorspace
- Comment -> user_comment
These can be easily extended/changed. The Exiftool is required to run this script, which can easily be downloaded here.
Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference
This year, Apple is again taking its Worldwide Developer Conference online from June 7th to 11th. Free for all developers, the conference offers unique insight into the future of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. This is a great opportunity to learn about the new technologies, tools and frameworks.

Updating P5 in the Browser
As of version 6.1, P5 software updates can now be installed directly from the web-admin interface on macOS and Linux installations. This is particularly useful for remote systems, such as Amazon EC2 instances, where updating can be complex. A simple click checks for newer versions on Archiware's servers, downloads and installs and restarts.
This update feature is provided only for platforms that do not maintain their own software registry that includes P5. Both Windows and NAS systems such as QNAP, Synology and ReadyNAS include their own package manager.
