| | | I recently took part in a field day with sixth-graders from a local middle school who were releasing the fish theyβd raised through TUβs Trout in the Classroom program. My job was to explain everything about fly fishing in 40 minutes, so we set up on the bank of the river for a demonstration. I was impressed by how engaged and attentive the kids were, and even their questions that were way off the mark showed how keen they were to understand the relationships among the angler, the trout, and the river ecosystem. I left with some new perspectives on this sport Iβve enjoyed for decades, as well as an increased sense of hope for the future of our resources. |
