US airline employment exceeds pre-pandemic levels

US airlines added almost 5,000 employees per month between November 2020 and September 2022 and now employ more people than they did before the pandemic, the most staff they have had on board in nearly 20 years. Jobs in the aviation industry pay 37% more than the private-sector average.

Good neighbors saved the day for a snowed-in quarterback

Buffalo, N.Y., is known as the City of Good Neighbors, a moniker that Bills quarterback Josh Allen experienced firsthand on Saturday. Allen says "Squirrel" Winter and Marc Braun "came with a big old tractor and dug me out" after Orchard Park, home to the team's Ford Field, got a whopping 80 inches of snow. Winter, Braun and fellow neighbor Norm Marshall enabled Allen to leave his house and get to the stadium before going to Detroit, where the Bills' Sunday game against the Cleveland Browns had been moved -- and for good measure, the Bills won, 31-23.
