Summer events @ St Augustine's Cultural & Business Centre, Brighton
Brighton’s St Augustine's Cultural & Business Centre, together with Fiveways Artist Group, will be one of the hosts for this year’s Artists Open Houses Festival, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Various works by local artists—from upcycled work, graffiti, screen prints, oil paintings, sculpture and more— will be on display throughout the month of June.
St. Augustine’s is also hosting Makers Fairs and Earth Vegan Markets through the summer, so be sure to check those out during your visit! |

Encountering a New Normal:
An online network for neurodiverse artists ‘Encountering a New Normal’ showcases the work of neurodiverse artists who experience misogyny or transmisogyny. The network currently features three mixed media and digital art works (with audio descriptions) by ArtWeb member Gemma Boyd.
With mediums from dance to drawing, poetry to performance, each artist’s work is accompanied by an explorative audio description. Normally considered to be solely an accessible resource, these audio descriptions aim to deepen the relationship between the work and the viewer. They were coauthored in groups of three artists. |
