August 9 To help mark National Health Center Week (NHCW), HRSA awarded $30 million to 151 HRSA-funded health centers to improve developmental outcomes among children ages 0-5 through increased screenings and follow-up services. This announcement is part of the Biden-Harris Administrations commitment to high-quality care early in childhood and ensuring that young children have the strongest possible start. The Presidents Budget has also called for renewing and growing the federal investment in health centers to support critical work like meeting the developmental needs of young children. Read the release. | Last week, HRSA celebrated the 2022 milestones of health centers across the nation. Serving over 30.5 million people, HRSA-funded health centers cared for more patients experiencing homelessness, patients in and around public housing, patients at school-based sites, and veterans than in 2021. Health centers made gains in providing maternal support, increased pediatric services, cancer screenings, routine immunizations, and much more.And 84% of health centers hosted pre- and/or post-graduate trainees. It was designed to improve the quality and availability of HIV care and treatment for low-income people with HIV.
