| | 1 February 2024 The worker was tipping food waste into a skip from a container attached to a forklift truck (FLT). The container could not be securely attached and slipped from the FLT, causing the worker to fall to the ground and resulting in fatal head injuries. 31 January 2024 The firm failed to implement safe working practices despite warnings from HSE and consistently put their workers at risk from serious injury by failing to adequately guard dangerous machinery. 31 January 2024 The worker suffered broken bones and serious tissue damage after his sleeve became caught up on a moving spindle, drawing his arm into the mechanism. The company had failed to either remove or suitably guard this part of the machinery. 26 January 2024 The worker was struck and killed by a loading shovel while walking across a traffic area on site. HSE's investigation found that the recycling company failed to protect pedestrians and had no suitable traffic management arrangements in place. 24 January 2024 The company was fined after exposing its own workers to wood dust and failing to comply with two improvement notices. 24 January 2024 The company was fined over 330,000 after a worker was struck on the head and killed by a 16-ton excavator while carrying out groundwork activities in a partially excavated trench. | | |
