CXLs are internationally agreed food standards that are established for pesticide residues in or on food. Information on CXLs is available on our website. In December 2023, the Codex Alimentarius Commission adopted new CXLs for a range of pesticide active substance/crop combinations. Agreed CXLs are voluntary and implementation by member countries is not automatic, but they may be adopted as GB maximum residue levels (GB MRLs) provided they are supported by GB assessments. Following a review by HSE, the CXLs adopted in December 2023, that meet the required level of protection for UK consumers, have now been adopted as GB MRLs. The full list of CXLs adopted as GB MRLs, along with the evaluation report/reasoned opinion and decision document supporting each CXL adopted, areavailable on our website. The new GB MRLs came into force on the 19 March 2024 as indicated in the GB MRL Statutory Register. If you have any questions relating to this ebulletin, please contact us |
