T-Mobile's 5G service is about to get much faster

The most significant boost will be in rural areas, where 'tens of millions' of its 5G customers will get an 'immediate performance boost' in the coming days

T-Mobile’s 5G network already offers unmatched 5G speeds and coverage throughout the U.S., with its efforts placing it in top spot for 5G performance in 46 states.

But the company isn’t content to rest on its laurels, on Wednesday announcing that it’s lighting up some recently acquired 5G spectrum to bring its 5G Ultra Capacity (UC) network to new communities while increasing the available bandwidth in some of its more congested urban areas.

The secret sauce behind T-Mobile’s expansive 5G UC network is its early acquisition of 2.5GHz midrange spectrum that could be used for new 5G deployments, thanks to its 2020 merger with Sprint ...

SMARTPHONE TECH by Andy Boxall

I spoke to Brain’s founder and CEO, Jerry Yue, and had an in-depth demonstration of what Brain.ai can really do, and what I saw had me eagerly ready and waiting to start deleting apps from my phone. Yue even had a phone with the Brain.ai interface on it so that he could demonstrate what he meant ...

SpaceX wants to fly the mighty Starship rocket next week

The company intends to push the world's most powerful rocket to the limit on its third test flight

SpaceX said on Wednesday that if it can secure a launch permit from the Federal Aviation Administration in the coming days, then it could launch the Starship rocket “as soon as March 14.”

Two earlier Starship tests ended abruptly when the rocket exploded before reaching orbit, though the second flight managed to achieve stage separation for the first time.

SpaceX said it wants to achieve several ambitious objectives with the 120-meter-tall rocket in the upcoming test, including “the successful ascent burn of both stages, opening and closing Starship’s payload door, a propellant transfer demonstration during the upper stage’s coast phase, the first ever re-light of a Raptor engine while in space, and a controlled reentry of Starship” ...
