Partygate, the Levelling Up agenda, a potential war in Ukraine...and of course all the very local stories of unwanted developments and anti-social behaviour that we cover each day.
Then there is the huge rise we are seeing in the cost of living, with energy bills, food baskets and fuel for our cars all rising at an extortionate rate - so much so that the Chancellor has stepped in to try to offer some help.
And on top of all of this, Covid has still not gone away, with an average of 89,000 new cases a day (last week it is believed three million people in the UK had Covid) and a still worrying death toll which went over 500 in one day this week.
Yet it was a much more mundane story that caught the eye today. A cyber attack targeting KP snacks could lead to a shortage of some of the nation’s most popular crisps including Hula Hoops and Skips, with the company saying delays and cancellations of deliveries are likely until the end of March.
