He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%. The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, "Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again." The gentleman replied, "Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will three times already!" ____________________________________________________ "Mom, you'd better come outside! I've just knocked over the ladder at the side of the house." "I'm busy. Go and tell your father." "He already knows. He's hanging from the roof." ____________________________________________________ San Francisco ___________________________________________________ "These hills are getting steeper as the years go by," one complained. "These fairways seem to be getting longer too," said one of the others. "The sand traps seem to be bigger than I remember them too," said the third senior. After hearing enough from his buddies, the oldest and the wisest of the four of them at 87 years old, piped up and said, "Just be thankful we're still on the right side of the grass!" __________________________________________________ An INTERNATIONAL BONEHEAD AWARD has been earned by Zaineddin Al Aalak, Calgary, Alberta, Canada Mental illness didn't contribute to Calgary man's decision to murder his father and dismember the body Zaineddin Al Aalak is charged with killing his father, Mohamed Al Aalak in July 2017 Despite a jury rejecting his insanity defence, lawyers for convicted killer Zaineddin Al Aalak argued Friday mental illness still played a role in his strangulation and dismemberment of his father. But Justice David Labrenz ruled the only evidence that mental disorder impacted Al Aalaks crime was his own discredited testimony. But Labrenz noted the bulk of the evidence on which Dr. Sergio Santana relied on to conclude Al Aalak was in a psychotic state when he strangled his father and carved up his remains came from the accuseds own story. The same was true for any claim of mental illness, he said. I do not find Mr. Al Aalaks evidence to be credible, or reliable, the Court of Queens Bench judge said. Al Aalak admitted taking his fathers life, but claimed he was suffering delusions that God was telling him the person in his home was an imposter who needed to be killed. He told jurors God told him to strike his father with a hammer, which he did, before repeatedly punching his victim until he fell to the floor. Al Aalak then manually strangled his father before dragging the body to the basement of the Acadia townhouse he shared with his mother and sisters, who were away in Iraq, and stuffing it into a freezer. After partially cleaning up the scene, he went to bed and the next morning went to his fathers home and picked up a circular saw. He used that tool and an axe to decapitate and dismember his fathers body and dumped most of the remains, save for his fathers right hand which he tossed in a dumpster at a construction site in Okotoks. Al Aalak, who was convicted of second-degree murder and causing an indignity to a body, faces an automatic life sentence. DearWebby's Tech Support Pits From:Rose Re: Goverment grants Dear Webby I get a fair bit of mail about free government grants. What's the deal? Rose Dear Rose The same deal as with the Nigerian Scam. Always keep in mind that spammers lie. Even if you, after throwing away good money, get a list of government agencies that supposedly hand out grants, most of them you won't qualify for at all. I don't know of anybody who has ever received one of those supposedly free grants. Have FUN! DearWebby One night at an economy motel, Joe ordered a 6 a.m. wake-up call. The next morning, he awoke before 6, but the phone did not ring until 6:30. "Good morning," a young man said sheepishly. "This is your wake-up call." Annoyed, he let the hotel worker have it. "You were supposed to call me at 6!" Joe complained. "What if I had a million-dollar deal to close this morning, and your oversight made me miss out on it?" "Well, sir," the desk clerk quickly replied, "if you had a million-dollar deal to close, you probably would not be staying in this motel!"
