Good evening everyone, We are a strange lot, the human race. As more and more businesses start to open up following our enforced period of isolation, it has been fascinating to see just which have attracted the crowds. During the initial period of lockdown, when DIY giant B&Q announced it was re-opening, people started to queue around the block, probably because they could see that a living room refresh was just the way to cut through the boredom. But this week, when fast food places opened their drive-thru facilities, the reaction went up a notch ...or two. People queues in their cars for miles to avail themselves of a burger and chips meal. The psychology of this is fascinating. Had none of these people been able to make themselves a burger while in lockdown, even though supermarkets and butchers have removed opened throughout? Or was it the thought of something unavailable for 11 weeks suddenly being within reach? Whatever the reason, I hope it was worth the two-hour wait in those queues.... Until next time, take care.
