Kanoe Namahoe column
Kanoe Namahoe
Are the holidays a joy or a stress for you? Several years ago, I got lost in the buying of gifts and the financial pressure ruined the season for me. That was the last year that happened. From that point forward, I scaled back my gift purchasing to my children and (later) grandchildren only. I put more emphasis on baking and spending time at church and community events. I made a decision to enjoy decorating. If something caused angst -- running around to find just the right stocking, shopping for a dress for a party -- I dropped it.

Our Chatter story today talks about five ways you can avoid stress and enjoy the holiday season. My favorites were accepting imperfection and skipping events. Doing these things will restore enormous joy back into your holidays.

What about you? How do preserve the fun and festivity of the season? Let me know! And if you enjoy this brief, tell others so they can benefit also.
