By Bob Warren Levee snag: A much-anticipated $760 million hurricane levee project in the River Parishes, which were hit hard by Hurricane Ida, has hit a snag. And it involves money, Mark Schleifstein reports. Walking wounded: If you’re checking out the Saints game tonight (and we know you will be) you might want to have a roster handy. The team will be without the services of a number of starters tonight against the Cowboys, various media outlets are reporting. Ouch! (And be sure to check out NOLA.com's Saints coverage here for the very latest all day.) Carnival time? Mardi Gras is just around the corner. I know, I know. We don't even have the Christmas tree up yet. Anyway, our Carnival guy Doug MacCash has this story to whet your appetite. About that City Hall relocation...: The plan to move New Orleans City Hall really is dead it appears. The New Orleans City Council put the final nails in its coffin yesterday. Jessica Williams has the details. Pie time for a visit: Finally, everyone likes pie, right? Right? Our dining expert Ian McNulty takes a bakery/cafe on Freret Street that, you guessed it, specializes in pie. Delicious! Hope you enjoyed the Lunch Line. Thanks for taking a break with us today. BW |
