Memorial Day weekend is an excuse to gather with friends and family, but it's also the perfect time to shop. Nordstrom has kicked off its Half-Yearly Sale, offering some of the hottest deals—up to 60 percent off—on summer styles from your favorite brands.

What screams summer more than the perfect pair of cutoffs? These under-$40 denim shorts are currently in my cart; the relaxed, high-waisted shorts are a great length and have an effortlessly cool '90s vibe. I'm also shocked to see this this buttery-soft Cotton On tube top for just $14.

I'm a sucker for a good denim dress, and this ultra-versatile $49 Cotton On mini is a must-buy. I love its flattering A-line fit, which is both structured and relaxed. It will look great with these warm-weather-perfect Rothy's Original Slip-On Sneakers or these Valentino-inspired spiked Havaianas flip-flops for $36. I think I will get both—this sale only happens once a summer, after all.
