Hey everyone,

First it was Coldplay and then came Green Day, bands from our childhood keep asking us to put our phones away and live in the moment.

We caught this wholesome moment when a Green Day superfan played Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) with the band to close their amazing Dubai show this week. I must have watched this clip back about 1,000 times already.

It's moments like these that make live music such an amazing experience.

But (and I'm not sure if I should even be telling you this as a social-media editor) there are loads of things to do in Dubai that are actually *much* better when you're not glued to your phone.

For example, this past weekend, I went stargazing with the hope of seeing the planetary alignment in the darkest spot in the UAE.

This may sound dramatic but, with limited phone coverage, I didn’t know if I would even survive this desert camping trip without being able to scroll on TikTok.

But it was such an incredible experience being out there roasting marshmallows and watching shooting stars.

I couldn't go completely cold turkey however and did manage to sneak away and film a couple of clips for you.

The social media blackout was well worth it. And if you want to try this out, it’s an organised tour (and it’s a non-cringe way to meet new people).

Maybe leaving your phone behind isn't so bad after all...
